+ WHAT IS CANNABIDIOL (CBD)? WHAT IS HEMP-BASED CBD?

CBD is one of over 118 naturally occurring chemical compounds found in a hemp plant. A hemp plant has a phytocannabinoid profile that contains cannabinoids, terpenes, and other naturally occurring compounds. There have been over 85 cannabinoids discovered in a hemp plant, two of the most well known are Cannabidiol (CBD), which is non-psychoactive and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the only cannabinoid in the plant that gives a person a feeling of a euphoric high.

A hemp-based CBD oil is a CBD oil that has been processed from a hemp plant, specifically the flower, seeds, and stalks of the plant. This is very different from hemp seed oil, which is oil that has been pressed from the seeds of a hemp plant and has its own health benefits.

Hemp-based CBD oil can be extracted using a variety of means, the most common is using the method of a Supercritical CO2 machine that allows for a clean CBD oil to be produced. There are many others ways that the CBD oil can be extracted to produce one of two categories of CBD oil: Isolate and Full-Spectrum.

Isolate CBD is processed in a way that only the cannabinoid CBD has been extracted from the plant and can be consumed or used in a variety of ways. A full-spectrum CBD oil is a CBD oil that has been extracted from the whole plant and has a full phytocannabionid profile, meaning that it contains all the naturally occurring chemical compounds that could be present in the plant. A full-spectrum hemp CBD could also have trace amounts of THC but always fall under the legal limit of .03%. Deciding which type of hemp CBD oil to use all depends on the individual’s opinion and desire. Much research has been written about both that can be reviewed for further information. LynFit Nutrition only carries products that are considered to be Full-Spectrum hemp-based CBD.

Hemp CBD oil is very versatile and can be taken and used in a variety of ways, such as tinctures, topicals, capsules, patches, edibles, roll-on, bath bombs, etc. The oils can also be found in a variety of doses ranging from 10mg-1,000mg+, again researching which milligram to start as would be helpful.

+ HOW DOES CBD WORK? WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

Over the last few years, there has been a lot of research and testimonials that have been written to help inform people on how CBD works in the body and the different benefits that it can bring. The most significant discoveries were when it was discovered that there were specific receptors in the body that interacted with the cannabinoids and that it was all managed by an internal system that can be found in plants, animals, and humans: the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a regulatory system in the body that uses receptors and the production of certain chemicals to help bring the body back to homeostasis. At this time there have been potentially three receptors found in the ECS, two more well-known are the CB1 and CB2 receptors that can be found in the brain, nervous system, immune system, and all other bodily functions and components.

When cannabinoids (specifically phytocannabinoids, meaning plant-based) like CBD are ingested they are received by the ECS in the body, and the receptors in the ECS use the cannabinoids as needed to regulate the different body functions. This discovery has lead researchers to discover not only how phytocannabinoids like CBD interact with the body but also discovered the benefits it contributes to the body.

Further individual research is a good place to start to discover for yourself what potential benefits cannabinoids, like CBD, can bring to you. Some of the current research has shown benefits for insomnia, anxiety, depression, immune issues, pain, inflammation, arthritis relief, etc. What’s also amazing is that research has discovered that since animals also have an ECS, the use of cannabinoids for them have shown to have similar benefits.

+ HOW DO I USE CBD OIL?

At LynFit Nutrition, we aim to provide access to the highest quality hemp-based CBD oil on the market. We are constantly educating ourselves and always discovering hemp CBD companies that truly produce a high-quality CBD product. By setting certain standards for the companies we work with, we can guarantee products that are safe, clean, and of high quality. We work with companies that are all hemp-based, grown and produced in the U.S., lab tested, and made with organic or truly natural ingredients. Furthermore, the farmers use organic and/or sustainable methods of growing the hemp to help make a product that is herbicide and pesticide-free.

There are many different ways to use hemp-based CBD oil. Hemp CBD is considered a dietary supplement that can be used on a daily basis. It all really comes down to individual preferences and the research you have done or discussed with your doctor.

CBD OILS:

Oils, also known as sublingual tinctures, come in a variety of milligrams. Some contain just the CBD oil and a carrier oil while others are infused with additional herbs and oils to help create a specific therapeutic effect. A few are water soluble, which allows for a high bio-availability (higher absorption) in the body. These CBD oils are taken sublingually (under the tongue) in order to be absorbed into the bloodstream quicker. The amount of time it takes to take effect and to last in the system can vary from one individual to another.

CBD TOPICALS:

CBD topicals are applied directly to an external part of the body and are used more for potential relief of a localized area. The phytocannabinoids are not absorbed by the bloodstream since it is being used topically. The amount of time it takes to take effect and last can vary from one individual to another.

CBD CAPSULES:

CBD capsules allow for an individual to consume hemp CBD oil in a more specific dose, which for some individuals can be a more convenient way to use CBD oil. When consuming anything in capsule form, it takes about 30-45 minutes for the body to digest and release into the bloodstream. The amount of time it takes to take effect and last in the system can vary from one individual to another.

+ WHAT IS FULL SPECTRUM HEMP OIL CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of at least 113 active compounds found in a Cannabis Sativa plant. When an oil is extracted from the plant, CBD can account for up to 40% of the phytocannabinoid profile of the extraction.

CBD has been found to be non-psychoactive and in the last few years has been further studied for its potential effects and benefits in human health.

Full-Spectrum Hemp CBD Oil refers to an oil extraction of a hemp CBD-rich plant that contains a full phytocannabinoid profile, meaning the oil contains terpenes, cannabinoids, and flavonoids that are naturally occurring in the hemp CBD-rich plant.

+ IS HEMP SEED OIL THE SAME AS HEMP BASED CBD OIL EXTRACT?

LynFit Nutrition only sells and works with companies that provide Full-Spectrum hemp-based CBD oils and products.

No, they are not the same. Hemp Seed Oil is just that, hemp oil that is pressed from the seeds of the plant. When researching hemp seed oil, you will find that it has its own potential health benefits.

Hemp-based CBD oil is oil that is extracted from the whole hemp plant and produces a full range of terpenes, cannabinoids, and other compounds that are naturally occurring in the hemp plant.

+ CAN I LEGALLY BUY HEMP CBD OIL?

Yes, all CBD from industrial hemp is federally legal. The current federal government’s ruling is this: CBD products made from industrial hemp are legal within the U.S. as long as they contain less than 0.3% THC. More specially, CBD from domestically grown plants must come with state certifications and can come from flower, seeds, and stalks. CBD from imported industrial hemp can come from seeds and stalks only and is legal in all 50 states, classified as a food and dietary supplement.

LynFit Nutrition only works with and sells products from companies that are U.S. grown and that the CBD oil is extracted from hemp plants.

+ WHAT IS THE BEST SERVING SIZE/DOSAGE?

To stay in compliance with Federal regulation, we cannot make health claims or give recommendations regarding dietary supplements. Individual research and speaking to your doctor are ways to discover which serving size/dosing is right for you.

Also, each product on our website comes with a suggestive starting dose that is given by the individual companies. Furthermore, there is also research that has recently come out about the use of “Micro-Dosing”, which indicates that one way of taking CBD oil is small amounts throughout the day versus all at once.

+ HOW WILL CBD OIL MAKE ME FEEL?

Hemp CBD oil is non-psychoactive, meaning that it can’t get you high. Furthermore, research has shown that most people report that it gives them a calm/relaxing feeling. The feeling does vary by individual so self-monitoring will be necessary when taking the oil.

+ ARE THE PRODUCTS SAFE?

When buying hemp CBD oil it is important to know how the hemp is being grown, how is the oil being extracted, where is the CBD oil being sourced from, and is it being lab tested.

LynFit Nutrition focuses on carrying products from companies that do their due diligence to grow and produce a clean and safe product. All the products we carry are grown or sourced within the U.S and the CBD Oil is extracted using a Supercritical CO2 machine to produce a clean oil that is free of harmful chemicals and solvents. Furthermore, all products are lab tested to make sure that they contain the natural occurring phytocannabinoid profile of the plant and are herbicide and pesticide-free, as well as free of synthetic ingredients. The farms that produce the oil also use growing methods that are organic and/or sustainable. The individual products will contain this information on the labels.

+ IS THERE THC IN THE PRODCUT? WILL I FAIL A DRUG TEST?

When consuming a Full-Spectrum Hemp CBD oil, there will be trace amounts of THC (always under the legal limit of .03%). This being said, all the hemp CBD products are non-psychoactive and will not produce a euphoric high.

When it comes to drug tests, it is important to know what the test is testing for. Most drug tests usually only test for delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but the amount they are looking for could vary.

However, some studies have shown that consuming hemp-based foods and oils can cause positive results when screening urine and blood specimens on a product that has a full phytocannabinoid cannabinoid profile. Therefore, if you need to any form of drug testing or screening, it is up to your discretion how to proceed.

+ WHAT IS THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM (ECS)?

In the last few decades, much research has been done to understand how phytocannabinoids interact with the body system. Throughout the years, discoveries have been made that found specific receptors in the body that interact with phytocannabinoids and that it is all managed by an internal system that can be found in plants, animals, and humans: the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
